Your Weekend Guide: 3 Things You Should Do in Addison

Ahhh, sighs of relief fill the air as it’s almost that magical day we call Friday! At 5 p.m. when you’re shutting down your computers and heading out of the office, make your way to Addison for some major fun this weekend.

1. Taste Addison

The big event starts this Friday at 6 p.m.! Attendees of Taste Addison will get to enjoy the best food and entertainment that the town of Addison has to offer! This three-day festival features over 60 Addison restaurants serving generous samplings of their menus at reduced prices, national musical entertainment, celebrity chef demonstrations and wine tasting seminars, carnival rides, midway games, award-winning children’s entertainment, and more. This year’s performers include Mat Kearney, Wade Bowen, Rhett Miller (of Old 97′s) & The Serial Lady Killers  and The Dirty Guv’Nahs. Our retaurants participating in Taste Addison include Blue Mesa Grill, The Saffron House, Sherlock’s Pub and T.G.I. Friday’s. See you there!

2. Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass “Introducing…” Exhibition

In the mood to see glass art from artists from all over? Look no further than “Introducing…” at Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass. Running until May 26, browse through gorgeous works by artists that Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass is welcoming to their studio for the first time. Artists include Brian Becher, Trefny Dix & Bengt Hokanson, Seth Fairweather, Fred Kaemmer, and Carlos Zervigon. And why not sign up for some fun classes this summer while you’re at it?

3. Watch the Rangers at Flying Fish

Our Texas Rangers have been having some great  games despite the loses! Come catch all of the action Saturday night at Flying Fish at Village on the Parkway. Choose from mouth-watering dishes like a Catfish Poor Boy or a plate of Crispy Fish Tacos. Pair your meal with an ice cold Domestic or Import beer to help fuel you up for some serious Rangers cheering. Don’t be late – the game starts at 6:15 p.m. CST!

We’re your Center for Arts in Addison this Spring & Summer

Village on the Parkway is the center in Addison where patrons can enjoy all of the arts including glass works, paintings, live music, and even culinary arts!

An award winning retailer of ours, Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass, is the place to see some of the best glass works from artists all over the world and learn how to work with glass in one of their many classes. Running now until May 26, join Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass for “Introducing…”, a collection of new work by new artists that we are welcoming to the gallery for the first time. Classes, workshops, summer camps, and more, The Craft Guild of Dallas, located in the Visit Addison! Center, is another retailer at Village on the Parkway with one focus on art. This summer, send your little ones off to a camp they’ll truly enjoy with all of the exciting summer camps available at The Craft Guild of Dallas.

It’s that time of year again! Get ready to sample great menu items from over 60 Addison restaurants, enjoy award winning children’s entertainment, ride carnival rides and lots more at Taste Addison on May 18-20 in Addison, Texas. And guess what? A few Village on the Parkway restaurants will be in attendance offering special menu items before and after the event:

These participating Addison restaurants will not only be at Taste Addison, but they will be cooking up special menu items to be featured at their restaurant before and after Taste Addison. You can vote for your faves so let your voice be heard by voting for the People’s Choice either online or at the Information Booth at Taste Addison.

Come root, root, root for the home team this spring at Village on the Parkway!

Sherlock’s PubThe Social House and T.G.I. Friday’s are the Game Day places to be in Addison. With plenty of drink and appetizer specials, our restaurants will keep you fueled as you cheer on the Texas Rangers. Make sure to come early to grab a good seat.

Before you watch the game, don’t forget to get your Texas Rangers themed attire! The fashions at Village on the Parkway have got you covered. Mallasadi’s red and blue shirts and ties offer an exciting way to show your Rangers pride at work on Game Day. You can go straight from work to catch the game without packing a change of clothes, since you’ll already be sporting your team’s colors.
